Laser uses pulses of energy from a specific wavelength to precisely target hair follicles thereby destroying the hair follicle. Nd:YAG is considered the platinum standard for most skin types, whilst something like Soprano (Diode type) offer a decent but inferior alternative, and further down is IPL – which is cheapest and worst performing type of laser hair removal technology.

In most cases, you will see 25-30% hair reduction with each treatment session. Up to 95% total hair reduction can be seen after 6-8 sessions. Certain factors such as hormones, however, can affect the results and it may take more sessions to achieve the desired results.

Some people will experience little pinches and describe them as excruciating pain, and others undergo the same procedure, experience the same little pinches, and will tell you they didn’t feel any pain at all.

Laser hair removal typically feels like a rubber band snapping against your skin. The extent of discomfort that the laser can cause to you depends on your skin type, color, amount of hair to be removed, and the area of your body that is being treated.
